Many of you have asked if there will ever be a downloadable PDF for my Wonder Boxes. It’s a great idea—and one that’s definitely on my “someday” list—but it’s not likely to happen soon.
The inspiration for Wonder Boxes came from all of you—those who curate beautiful FIAR and RAR collections. As someone with a deep love for science, I’ve gathered a pretty extensive personal library over the years. I wanted a simple, appealing way to organize these books for check-in and check-out, while also making it easy for busy, tired mamas to grab a curated set of excellent titles—all in one tidy box.
My goal? To help families discover and enjoy books they might never have picked up otherwise, just because they’re included in a themed collection.
The secret? I shopped my own shelves. These are books I already own and love for a variety of reasons. But the best part is, you can do the same—gather your own books into groupings that make sense for your library, using what’s already on hand.
That said, I know how much fun it is to peek into someone else’s system and take a fresh book list along on a thrifting adventure. I also wanted to make it easier for parents to browse the contents of each box from home before requesting one. So—thanks to my talented 17-year-old—each Wonder Box now has its own dedicated page on my website! The collections are still taking shape, but they’re beginning to settle into something I’m really excited to share.
And because I can—and because I’m a Partner Guide at Biblioguides—I’ll be noting which books are listed in their database, so you (and my library patrons) can research them more easily.
