How To Use Notion
To learn Notion, I would recommend watching Thomas Frank’s YouTube playlist, Notion Fundamentals.
Notion Account
To set up your Notion account, visit: https://www.notion.so/login
Start Building
You now have a couple of options:
- You could start completely from scratch, or
- You could just use a template.
Building from scratch is not that complicated, but it would be easier just to use a template.
Notion Template
Using a Notion template could not be simpler. You visit the template’s page, hit the duplicate button, and wait for the template to build itself in your workspace.
Here is the template that we are using to build a website for librarians right now:
Once the template is added, you can edit it in whatever way you desire.
Publishing Your Site
You now have a couple of options:
Free Super.so Site
This is the route that I recommend you use. The URL will be cleaner, and the site is MUCH more customizable.
To set up your site, follow Super’s instructions. It is not too complicated, and they have a super-easy-to-use documentation site.
Note: To set up a Super Site, you must first publish your site as a Notion Site (Super uses the public URL to create your site)
Free Notion Site
You actually need to do this to set up the other option!
To set up a Free, native Notion site, hit the share button in the top right, hit publish, and you should be good to go!
Note: the url will NOT be pretty:
