A Peek at My Early Reader Shelf Setup

In this video, I’m sharing how I set up our early reader and early chapter book sections—specifically curated for emerging and developing readers. The goal? To make it easy and exciting for them to browse and discover books they’ll be eager to read on their own.

I’m very aware that having this kind of shelf space is a luxury, and I’m not suggesting this is the “right” way for everyone. This is simply what works for us right now, and we’re glad to be able to do it.

Here are the tools I use to make it all work:

  • Magazine files (mine are from IKEA, but here’s a similar option on Amazon): https://amzn.to/3OHH4oD
  • Zippered bags that hold up well to regular use: https://amzn.to/4irmSVG
  • White baskets that fit I Can Read books perfectly: https://amzn.to/4g0UuIj
  • Stickers for labeling: https://amzn.to/3ZHs5kH
  • Stickers for the backs of Picture Book Preschool and Scholastic books: https://amzn.to/4g4Prq8a
